We liked the obstacle course in the bay, watching the limbo, watching the Popeye play, the free popcorn, seeing inside the houses and the tour. The obstacle course in the ocean was fun and a challenge. The characters and acting in the play were fun to watch.
The mini-golf and the pool was a huge letdown. The beach was all stoney and hurt our feet. The food was just okay, but not great. There was also not really that much to do.
Mum and dad made us put this in:
We had to take the girls to the Disney film set of Popeye village. The location was ideal for the story line; a picturesque fishing village cove. An introduction to the fun story starring Robin Williams. The time and allocation of resources in building of the set is unimaginable but was completed in time and budget. It did pull on heart strings for mum and dad as we reminisced childhood memories.
The village was fun to visit! The water challenges were beyond mum but so much fun for the girls. Walking through the set was fascinating; some buildings internally propped and others a mere shell. The upper play park comprising of mini golf and the pool was lack luster. Two out of ground round pools that were deep so appropriate for competent swimmers and adults whilst the mini golf being suitable for three year olds.
Unusual that we agreed with the girls on our star rating. Are we glad we visited? Yes. Would we go again? Definitely not.
